What the Ask form collects
The form requires a topic and question. Your name and email address are optional. Provide an email only if you want the editor to be able to reply privately.
Why it is collected
Submissions are used to understand what early-career security professionals need help with, prepare future educational content, and reply when contact information is supplied. Questions are not displayed publicly automatically.
Abuse prevention
Cloudflare Turnstile checks whether a submission appears legitimate. A keyed, irreversible hash derived from the request IP address is kept separately for no longer than 48 hours to enforce a rolling submission limit. Neither the raw IP address nor its hash is stored with your question.
Retention
Optional contact email addresses are removed after 90 days. Questions may be kept as anonymised editorial research unless they are dismissed or deletion is requested.
Sharing and requests
Ask submissions are not sold. Service providers such as Cloudflare process data only to host, secure, and operate the website. To request access or deletion, use the Ask form without including additional sensitive information and reference your submission ID.
What not to submit
Do not include passwords, API keys, confidential employer information, personal records, exploit payloads targeting live systems, or any other sensitive data.
